LED Labs STANDARD 16-1001-01 is a five-metre RGB strip carrying 150 type 5050 SMD LEDs, equivalent to 30 LEDs per metre. It operates on 12 V DC and consumes 7.2 W per metre, so a full reel can require up to 36 W. The PCB is 10 mm wide and its IP20 rating limits the product to a dry interior.

RGB control and a 12 V supply are required

The strip alone is not a complete installation. Colour selection, brightness and effects require a compatible RGB controller, while power comes from a correctly rated 12 V DC driver. Size that supply for the installed length with suitable reserve; the nominal load of all five metres is 36 W. Maintain the common polarity across all four RGB tracks and never connect the strip directly to a 230 V mains circuit.

150 type 5050 SMD LEDs across five metres

Thirty 5050 SMD packages sit on every metre, giving 150 across the reel. Each package combines red, green and blue channels, allowing the controller to mix colours at a single point. A density of 30 LEDs per metre is intended mainly for accent lighting on a shelf, in a recess, along a ceiling or behind a screen. An opal diffuser in an aluminium profile can soften the visible dots.

100 mm cutting sections on 10 mm PCB

The exact data sheet marks cutting points every 100 mm and a strip width of 10 mm. Cut only at those symbols and reconnect all four pads correctly after shortening. Factory-applied double-sided tape assists installation, but the substrate must be clean, smooth and degreased. An aluminium profile supports the strip and dissipates heat more effectively than mounting directly onto wood or plastic.

IP20, 15,000 hours and two-year warranty

IP20 provides no water protection, so the strip is unsuitable for a bathroom, wet zone or exterior unless placed in a properly rated enclosure. LED Labs states an operating range from -20 to +50°C, a 15,000-hour lifetime and a two-year warranty. Test the complete length and every colour channel before bonding it permanently, and keep the driver and controller accessible for inspection or replacement.
