Lumifall Alcazar 142.WC Double Recessed Downlight AR111/G53, White with Chrome

Alcazar 142.WC is a twin recessed downlight in a rectangular white frame measuring 355 × 180 mm. The body is CNC-cut aluminium finished in a semi-matt powder coat, and each of the two openings holds a removable polished aluminium ring. The frame stands 3 mm proud of the ceiling line.

The cut-out and the space above the ceiling

The cut-out is 325 × 150 mm, and the manufacturer's installation drawing calls for at least 110 mm of clear space above the ceiling — that is what the AR111 lamps take up together with their wiring. Compare that figure with the plenum left above your own suspended ceiling; it will not fit under a plasterboard sheet screwed straight to the slab.

Spring clips hold it in the opening, so it comes out without tools and the rings detach from the room side — which matters every time a lamp is changed. The whole fitting weighs 770 g.

Which lamps fit and what you still need to buy

The two G53 sockets take AR111 or QR111 lamps of up to 75 W each; the manufacturer recommends an LED reflector over halogen. No lamps are included — Lumifall supplies the fitting alone.

One thing decides the purchase: G53/AR111 lamps run on 12 V, so a transformer has to be bought as well and given room above the ceiling. The same housing is optionally available with GU10 sockets, which run straight off 230 V and need no transformer at all.

Aiming the two light points

Each ring rotates through 360° horizontally and tilts through 35° vertically, so the two points can be sent in different directions — one onto a wall with a picture, the other straight down over a walkway. The width of the beam is down to the lamp itself: a wide reflector gives general light, a narrow one an accent. The manufacturer covers the fitting with a five-year warranty.
