Lumifall Alcazar 541.WC square recessed downlight white with chrome

Alcazar 541.WC is a square recessed downlight with a 92 mm edge, built from CNC-cut aluminium. The frame is white, powder-coated to a semi-matt finish, and the inner ring seated in it is polished chrome. The complete fitting weighs 125 g.

Size and the ceiling cut-out

The visible frame measures 92 × 92 mm and is 2.8 mm thick; the light opening is 41.5 mm across. The ceiling needs an 80 mm cut-out — compare that figure with the spacing of the carrier profiles in your suspended ceiling before you set out the fitting positions.

The body sinks 25.5 mm into the ceiling, but the manufacturer asks for at least 90 mm of clear space above the board, because the lamp and the cable have to fit in there. Spring clips hold the fitting in the opening, so it pushes in without screws and comes back out the same way.

Socket, supply voltage and lamp

The standard version carries a Gx5.3 socket on a 2 × 0.75 mm² lead and takes a PAR16 halogen reflector of up to 50 W, or its LED equivalent, which the manufacturer recommends. No lamp is included, so you choose the colour temperature and the brightness when you buy the bulb.

A Gx5.3 socket runs on 12 V, which means the installation has to include a transformer and leave room for it above the ceiling. Lumifall offers an optional GU10 socket on the same body; that one runs straight off 230 V mains and needs no driver at all. The choice decides how the whole run of fittings is wired, so make it before installation.

Aiming the light

The inner ring turns through 360° in the horizontal plane and tilts 25° off vertical, so the beam can be aimed at a wall, a picture or a worktop instead of straight down. The fitting has one light point.

The ring lifts out, which means the lamp can be changed without pulling the whole fitting from the ceiling. Its polished surface throws light downwards; Lumifall also supplies the same square body with a gloss black ring (541.WB).

Where it belongs

The manufacturer intends it for the living room, bedroom, kitchen, dining room, hallway and office — anywhere the lighting should disappear into the plane of the ceiling. The shape is modern: a flat square frame with no ornament, uniform white, and the chrome ring set against it.
