inFLEXA is a recessed aluminium profile for LED strips from the LUMINES FLEXA system, here in black and as a 1 m length. Once set into a wall or ceiling only a 21 mm flange shows, and the line of light sits flush with the surface.
Dimensions and installation
Below the flange the body is 16 mm wide and 15 mm deep, with an overall height of 16 mm. The profile is pressed into a prepared milled groove, so the slot in the board or plaster has to be cut to these dimensions; the manufacturer also allows fixing with screws or double-sided tape. The strip channel is 13.6 mm wide and takes LED strip up to 12 mm – measure your own strip including its adhesive layer.
The driver is mounted outside the profile, so space for it has to be planned along the run, for example in a box or above a suspended ceiling.
What you need to buy separately
The profile is sold on its own – without strip, cover or end caps. It takes BASIC covers in PMMA or PC and the flexible silicone BASIC FLEX cover in opal. Black end caps with a cable hole are offered in aluminium (12-2292-10) and in ABS (12-2272-00). The datasheet also lists connectors: straight, 90°, 120° and 135° angle, 90° transverse and a triple 3 × 120°.
The bare profile is rated IP20, so without sealing it is for dry interiors; the manufacturer also lists a sealed IP68 version for the system.
Lengths and bending
This piece is 1 m long; 2.02 m and 3 m lengths are also available, and custom lengths up to 6 m to order. The FLEXA system is designed for curves on walls and columns, but the manufacturer makes bent profiles only in the lacquered finish, with a minimum radius of 150 to 475 mm depending on bending direction and cover type.
