Mantra COMFORT GU10 C0161 round recessed light matte silver

Mantra COMFORT GU10 C0161 is a round recessed fitting made from aluminium with a matte silver finish. A broad circular rim surrounds the recessed opening for the bulb. The C0161 code identifies the round version rather than the square fittings in the same range, an important distinction when matching a replacement to an existing ceiling cutout.

Check the cutout, not just the rim

The fitting has an outside diameter of 9.6 cm, while the required ceiling cutout is 85 mm in diameter. These measurements serve different purposes: the rim remains visible below the ceiling surface, and the body sits inside the opening. When replacing an existing fitting, compare the cutout size rather than relying on the width of its visible trim.

The body is 4 cm high. That measurement does not describe all the space needed above the ceiling, since the selected bulb and wiring connections must also be accommodated. The assembly instructions show spring clips and the connection of a GU10 holder. They do not establish compatibility with every stretch-ceiling construction.

A separate GU10 LED bulb

The fitting takes one GU10 bulb, which is not included. The manufacturer's instructions specify an LED bulb rated at no more than 12 W. This is the permitted bulb wattage, not a fixed consumption figure for the fitting or a measure of its brightness.

Colour temperature, light output and beam angle depend on the bulb you select. For several recessed points in one room, compare the bulb specifications as well as the appearance of the fittings. Matching silver rings alone will not determine the resulting lighting. The manufacturer lists this version as non-dimmable, so dimming should not be treated as a declared feature.

A circular detail for contemporary ceilings

The simple geometry and absence of decorative ornament support modern and minimalist interiors. C0161 can form part of a ceiling-lighting plan for a living room, bedroom, kitchen, dining room, hallway or study where recessed installation is possible. The number and spacing of fittings must suit the room and the chosen bulbs; the size of one ring does not establish how well an entire space will be lit.
