Mantra PANAMA 8763 black recessed LED downlight 6W CCT

Mantra PANAMA 8763 is a round black recessed downlight with an aluminium body and an integrated 6 W LED source. A broad trim surrounds the recessed lens, within an overall diameter of 85.4 mm. This reference identifies the black version; the white member of the family is numbered 8762.

Choose one of three white-light settings

A selector on the back provides 3000, 4000 or 5000 K. These settings move from warm white through a more neutral white to a cooler appearance. They are three fixed positions, not a continuously adjustable colour-temperature range. The instructions show the selection being made with the power off, before the fitting is inserted into the ceiling. For several downlights intended to match, select the same position on each.

Colour selection is separate from brightness control: PANAMA 8763 is not dimmable. Its light source is already built into the fitting, so there is no separate screw-base or pin-base bulb to choose for installation.

A defined beam for a ceiling lighting layout

The 38° beam is more concentrated than the distribution of a wide-angle ceiling panel. Output from the complete luminaire is 480 lm; the manufacturer separately specifies 675 lm for the source itself. Use the complete fitting's output when planning illumination rather than adding those figures together. The stated CRI of 90 describes the source's colour rendering.

This compact ceiling light can form part of a living-room, bedroom, kitchen, walk-in wardrobe or circulation-area layout. For a larger space, position multiple fittings according to ceiling height and the area to be illuminated. A 6 W rating alone does not determine the room size that can be lit.

Check the cut-out, not just the visible diameter

The installation instructions specify a Ø75 mm opening, while the drawing gives a height of 29 mm. The outside trim diameter is not the cutting diameter. Side springs hold the fitting in place, and its electrical input is 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz. Check the ceiling construction and space for the cable before cutting.

The plain circular form suits modern and minimalist interiors without adding an ornamental shade. Against a light ceiling, the black trim remains a distinct round detail rather than disappearing into the surface.
