Savoy is a wall light with a rectangular white fabric shade set on a flat wall bracket in polished brass. A second fitting sits below the bracket — a brass reading light on a flexible arm ending in a small reflector head.
How large it is and how much wall it takes
The fitting is 25 cm wide, projects 20 cm from the wall and stands 40 cm tall. Compare those figures with the gap between your bed and the wall and with the height of your headboard — they decide at what height the shade stays within arm's reach.
At 0.73 kg the light puts very little load on the wall. Power runs through a 2 m cable in transparent insulation, and the switch sits on the wall bracket itself, so the light is switched at the fitting rather than from a separate wall switch.
Two different lights in one fitting
The upper light takes one E27 bulb of up to 60 W, or its LED equivalent. The shade fabric is opaque and its underside is open, so the light falls mainly downwards — onto the bed or the armchair below.
The reading light has a built-in 3 W LED. It is fixed in place and is not replaced the way a bulb is, while the flexible arm aims the narrow beam precisely at a book without lighting the whole room.
Build and the interior it suits
The bracket and the reading arm are made of iron in a polished brass finish, and the shade is sewn from white fabric. The plain, angular shape without ornament combined with the warm shine of brass gives a modern classic look — classic materials in a line free of decoration.
The maker intends Savoy for the bedroom and for reading, which is why a separate arm light sits beside the general light. The fitting is protection class II, so no earth conductor is needed to connect it.
