Namsos Mini 1340CB Recessed Wall Light, Copper Brown, LED 4 W 3000 K, IP65, NORLYS

The Namsos Mini 1340CB is a square recessed wall light, 11 cm across and 10 cm deep. The body is powder-coated cast aluminium in copper brown RAL 8004, and the light opening is closed with satin safety glass behind a louvred baffle that sends the light downward only. Inside works an integrated 4 W LED module at 3000 K.

How much light it gives and what it is for

The manufacturer publishes two flux figures: 439 lm for the module itself and 51 lm for the complete luminaire. The baffle holds back the difference, which is why you cannot look straight into the lit fitting — 0.29% of the flux escapes upward and the BUG rating is B0-U1-G0. For comparison, an old 60 W incandescent bulb gave around 800 lm, so the Namsos Mini marks a place rather than lighting a surface.

The data sheet lists it for stairs, steps, staircases and passageways. 3000 K is warm white, and Ra 80 means correct but not reference colour rendering — less important for a marker light than it would be over a worktop. The fitting dims on an ordinary phase dimmer; the manufacturer allows both trailing edge and leading edge units, so no bus and no separate controller is needed.

What opening the wall needs

In solid masonry the fitting goes into a 105 x 105 x 110 mm hole, and in a layered wall into an 82 x 82 x 82 mm one. A marking template is included in the set. What stays visible afterwards is an 11 x 11 cm frame, and the fitting weighs 0.55 kg, so the recess alone holds it.

Wiring and durability

This is a class I luminaire, so it has to be connected to a protective earth conductor. The terminals take conductors up to 3 x 2.5 mm², and looping several fittings through on one cable is allowed up to 3 x 1.5 mm². The gasket may be pierced only with the installation cable itself, 7–10.5 mm in diameter; piercing it with a tool degrades the seal and voids the warranty.

IP65 sealing and IK10 impact resistance let the fitting stay on a façade all year, over an operating range from -20 to +45 °C. The LED module is rated for over 59 000 hours and is replaced by a service technician, not by the user — there is no bulb to buy separately.
