Nora 2470BL is a flat square outdoor wall light, 13 cm a side and 5 cm deep, in cast aluminium painted black RAL 9005. It emits in two directions — up and down — through clear glass with a silicone gasket.
ULOR 50% — half the light goes upward
That is not a flaw but the whole idea of the fitting: the manufacturer declares ULOR = 50%, an even split of the output between up and down. On a facade it produces symmetrical, soft washes above and below the fitting — an architectural effect rather than a functional one. But it is worth knowing what you are buying: Nora will not light a path or a doorstep, because only half of its 1103 lumens go downward, and it does not belong where upward light emission is restricted.
IP65 and IK09 — a level you rarely see
IP65 means fully dust-tight and resistant to water jetted from any direction. The second figure matters more, though: IK09 is resistance to a 10-joule impact — rarely found on facade wall lights and genuinely useful where the fitting hangs low, by a passageway, in a car park or in public space. The operating range runs from -20 to +45 °C.
DALI2 and replaceable gear
The fitting supports DALI2, and the manufacturer specifies the driver as DALI / TD, so a second control mode is provided alongside the bus. The product card also states that both the light source and the control gear are replaceable by a professional — on a fitting with a permanently integrated LED that is a real difference: a driver failure after a few years does not mean replacing the whole luminaire.
Light quality
15.3 W produces 1103 lm, an efficacy of 72.1 lm/W — lower than a directional fitting, which follows naturally from two-sided distribution and a glass diffuser. Colour is 3000 K at CRI 80, and the spread between units stays within SDCM3: in a row of these along one facade they all emit the same shade of white. Power factor exceeds 0.9.
Installation and eight finishes
Fixed on two ø5 mm holes at 63 × 112 mm spacing. Terminals take conductors up to 5×2.5 mm², and loop-through up to 5×1.5 mm² carries the supply to the next fitting in a run — useful where they are spaced rhythmically along a facade. The build is protection class I. Nora comes in eight colours: aluminium 2470AL, black 2470BL, cement grey 2470CG, copper brown 2470CB, corten 2470CS, graphite 2470GR, grey beige 2470GB and white 2470WH, with other pattern-book colours to order.
