Asker 1510WH is an outdoor wall light by Norlys shaped as a flat rectangular box, cast in aluminium and powder-coated white (RAL 9003). It shines up and down at the same time through clear, textured UV-stabilised polycarbonate diffusers, so it draws two beams of light on the wall above and below the fitting.
Size and wall mounting
The fitting is 22.5 cm wide, 11 cm high and projects 8.5 cm from the wall. It fixes with two screws through ø5 mm holes spaced 180 × 60 mm. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and the round-sheathed supply cable has to be 7 to 10.5 mm in diameter for the EPDM gland to seal it.
The light is protection class I, so it must be connected to an earth conductor. Further fittings can be looped through with cable up to 3 × 1.5 mm², which on a row of lights along a facade means one supply line rather than one per fitting. The manufacturer states that up to 158 of these fittings fit on one B10 circuit breaker and up to 250 on a B16.
Light and control
The source is a built-in 8.8 W LED module – there is no bulb holder, so nothing needs buying separately. The fitting emits 312 lm, with roughly half of it directed upwards: this is light for accenting a wall and lighting an entrance or terrace, not for brightly lighting a driveway. At 3000 K the light is warm white, with CRI 80.
The fitting can be dimmed with a phase dimmer – it works with both trailing-edge and leading-edge types, so it also suits older dimmers already in the installation.
Weather resistance
An IP65 rating means dust-tight and protected against water jets, so the light can be mounted on an uncovered wall. Impact resistance of IK08 protects the diffusers against accidental damage. The gasket is silicone. The Asker series offers the same body in nine colours, including black, graphite and corten steel.
