NORLYS Asker MD1529WH White LED Outdoor Wall Light with Motion Sensor 9.4 W 2700 K IP65

The NORLYS Asker MD1529WH is a box-shaped outdoor wall light in cast aluminium, powder-coated white (RAL 9003). It shines up and down at the same time through clear, textured polycarbonate lenses, and the housing carries a microwave motion sensor with a dusk switch.

Size and installation

The fitting is 22.5 cm wide and 11 cm high and projects 8.5 cm from the wall — the figure to check against the free space beside a door or frame. It fixes through two ø4.5 mm holes spaced 180 × 60 mm; any other mounting accessories are sold separately.

The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and the cable gland a round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter. Further fittings can be looped through with conductors up to 3 × 1.5 mm², so several wall lights on one facade can share a single supply run. The maker also states how many of these fittings one circuit breaker can carry: 158 on B10A, 250 on B16A, 260 on C10A and 425 on C16A. It is a protection class I luminaire, so it must be connected with an earth conductor.

Light and motion sensor

The integrated 8.8 W LED module produces 773 lm, and 241 lm leaves the fitting itself at 9.4 W. Half of that goes upwards (ULOR 50%) and half downwards, drawing two bands of light on the facade. That is accent and orientation light at an entrance rather than area lighting. 2700 K gives warm, slightly yellow light, and CRI 80 renders colours adequately.

The MC119S microwave sensor switches the light on when it detects movement and keeps it on for the set time. Factory settings are 100% detection range, a 5 s hold time and the dusk threshold disabled — the maker advises adjusting these after installation to suit the spot. In standby the fitting draws 0.1 W.

Build and servicing

The housing is rated IP65 and IK08 for impact, so it can hang on an exposed wall in the rain without a canopy. The gasket is silicone and the cable gland EPDM. The LED module and control gear are replaced by a professional service, and the maker lists the service kit ZS1529zx0009 for this fitting — a failed module does not mean replacing the whole wall light. LED lifetime to LM-80 is over 55,000 h (L70).
