Norlys Asker Small Pro 1720BL outdoor wall light black LED 8.4 W 3000K, up and down light

Norlys Asker Small Pro 1720BL is a box-shaped outdoor wall light in cast aluminium, powder-coated black (RAL 9005). It lights both ways – up and down through clear, textured UV-stabilised polycarbonate lenses – so it draws two bands of light on the facade above and below the fitting.

Size and mounting

The light is 22.5 cm wide and 11 cm high, projects 8.5 cm from the wall and weighs 1.34 kg. It is fixed with two screws through ø4.5 mm holes spaced 180 × 60 mm. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and the round-sheathed cable must be 7–10.5 mm in diameter for the gland to seal.

It can be looped through (conductors up to 3 × 1.5 mm²), so a row of these along a facade needs one supply run. The manufacturer states that up to 157 of these fittings can share one B10A circuit breaker – the figure that decides how a longer run is split into circuits. The fitting is protection class I, so it needs an earth conductor.

How much light, and what kind

Inside are two LED modules with a built-in driver. At 8.4 W the fitting delivers 798 lm – the light that actually leaves the lenses, not just what the diodes produce. 3000 K is warm white, and CRI 80 is enough for an entrance or a house wall. It is phase-dimmable, but only with a trailing-edge (RC) dimmer, so check that rating when choosing one.

IP65 means it is dust-tight and protected against water jets, so it can be mounted on a wall with no canopy above it, and IK08 means the housing resists impacts.

Where it works

Asker is a modern, geometric shape with no ornament that suits plain architecture. The manufacturer intends it for lighting walls and facades; it also works by an entrance, on a balcony, along a fence and on hotel and restaurant frontages. The same body comes in aluminium, white and graphite, and as version 1721 with DALI2 control.
