NORLYS Nidaros 2124AL Outdoor Ceiling Light Aluminium LED 8.5 W 4000 K IP65 Dimmable, 18 cm

Nidaros 2124AL is an outdoor ceiling light shaped as a cylinder 12 cm across and 18 cm tall, cast in aluminium and powder-coated in aluminium colour (RAL 9006). Its underside is closed by clear safety glass with the reflector visible behind it, and the LED module shines downward only.

What light it gives

The light draws 8.5 W and delivers 825 lm at 4000 K, a neutral white. The beam is 24° wide, so instead of flooding the space it throws a defined pool of light below the fitting or a streak on the wall beside it — Norlys intends it for lighting wall and facade surfaces. ULOR 0% and the BUG rating B1-U1-G0 mean no light is sent upward into the sky.

The maker states CRI 80 and a 50,000-hour life for both the LED module and the driver.

Dimming

The light is phase-dimmable and works with both trailing-edge and leading-edge dimmers. It therefore needs no separate controller and no control wiring — a phase (TRIAC) dimmer in the installation is enough.

Installation and wiring

Nidaros fixes to a horizontal surface — a ceiling, a soffit, the underside of a canopy — through two fixing holes. The IP65 rating means the housing is dust-tight and protected against water jets, so it can work outdoors, under the eaves or above an entrance. A 3084 spacer for standing it off the surface is sold separately.

The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and allow the supply to be looped on to the next light (up to 1.5 mm²), and the gland takes round cable 7–10.5 mm across. Several lights in a row under the eaves can therefore run from one cable. The light is protection class I and must be earthed.
