NORLYS Nora 2486AL outdoor wall light, aluminium RAL 9006, satin glass – LED 15 W, 2700K, up-and-down light

Nora 2486AL is a flat, square outdoor wall light measuring 13×13 cm that projects just 5 cm from the wall. The body is cast aluminium powder-coated in aluminium colour (RAL 9006), and both light openings are closed with satin safety glass and a silicone gasket. The satin finish diffuses the light, so the LEDs do not show as bright points. Inside are two LED modules with their driver, so no bulbs are needed.

How it lights

Light leaves both ways — up and down — and is diffused; a ULOR of 50% means half of the output goes upwards. The result is two fans of light on the wall, above and below the fitting, which is what Norlys designed it for: lighting walls, facades and architectural details. 2700 K is a warm, slightly yellowish light close to a traditional bulb, and CRI 80 is standard colour rendering.

Norlys quotes 610 lm at 15 W, but the driver has a power switch from 10.9 W to 15 W and leaves the factory set to 10.9 W. The full brightness on the data sheet only comes once the switch is moved during installation, so tell the electrician before the fitting goes on the wall. It is also phase-dimmable on trailing-edge (TE) or leading-edge (LE) dimmers.

Mounting and wiring

It fixes through two ø5 mm holes spaced 63×112 mm and weighs 0.85 kg. It is protection class I and needs a protective earth. The terminals take conductors up to 3×2.5 mm² and allow the supply to be looped on to the next fitting (up to 3×1.5 mm²), and the gland takes round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. A row along a facade can therefore run on one supply line: with an inrush current of 10 A / 13.5 µs, Norlys allows up to 37 fittings on a B10A breaker, 60 on B16A, 62 on C10A and 102 on C16A.

IP65 means protection against water jets, so it can hang on an unsheltered wall, and IK09 impact resistance protects it where it is easily knocked. Norlys gives the driver a lifetime of 50,000 h.
