NORLYS Sol 4057WH Outdoor Ceiling Light LED 19.3W 3000K DALI2 White Ø20 cm IP65

Sol 4057WH is a Norlys outdoor ceiling luminaire shaped as a low cylinder, 20 cm in diameter and 11 cm high. The body of extruded aluminium profile and aluminium alloy is powder-coated white (RAL 9003), and it is closed underneath by a satin diffuser of UV-stabilised polycarbonate, sealed with a silicone gasket.

Mounting and connection

The luminaire weighs 2.42 kg and is screwed to the ceiling with two screws through ø5 mm holes spaced 100 mm apart. It projects 11 cm from the ceiling – a figure to compare with the clearance under an eave or above a door.

The terminals take conductors up to 5 × 2.5 mm² and let you loop the supply on to the next fitting with cable up to 1.5 mm², so several ceiling lights under one roof can run off a single line. The EPDM gland accepts round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. It is a protection class I luminaire, so it needs a protective earth conductor.

What light it gives

The built-in Philips Fortimo LED module with its driver draws 19.3 W and delivers 1663 lm at 3000 K – warm white – with a colour rendering index of Ra 80. That is the level of main lighting, not of a small light that only marks an entrance. The satin diffuser spreads the light so that no bright LED points are visible, and the output falls symmetrically downwards; only 0.3% goes upwards (BUG B1-U1-G1).

The manufacturer rates the light source at L70 above 50,000 hours. Control is designed for a DALI2 system – brightness is adjusted digitally from a DALI control installation. The luminaire can also run on a DC supply of 176–280 V, which matters in installations with DC emergency power.

Durability and use

IP65 means the housing is sealed against dust and water jets, and IK10 is the top class of the impact scale, so the housing will withstand an accidental knock. The manufacturer intends the luminaire for lighting gardens, private grounds and architecture – it suits the ceiling of a covered terrace, a gazebo or the underside of an eave. The plain, contemporary cylinder without ornament suits modern buildings.
