Stockholm 220BL is an outdoor wall light with an opal polycarbonate diffuser guarded by a cage of horizontal steel hoops and vertical bars. The steel body and the cast aluminium base are powder-coated black (RAL 9005). Norlys describes the design as Scandinavian and intends the fitting for gardens as well as other private grounds and public areas.
Size and wall mounting
The fitting is 21 cm wide and 23.5 cm high and weighs 2.5 kg — compare that with the free wall space beside your front door or between the windows of the facade. It is fixed to the wall through two ø5 mm holes.
The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and the fitting can be looped through, so several wall lights can be fed in series from one supply cable. The supply cable must have a round sheath 7–10.5 mm in diameter. This is a Class I luminaire, so it must be connected to a protective earth.
Bulb and light
The lamp holder is E27 and no bulb is included. The manufacturer allows an LED bulb of up to 9 W in the A55–A60 shape, i.e. the classic pear shape, no longer than 110 mm. The bulb can be changed by the user without a service call.
The opal diffuser spreads the light of the bulb across its whole surface, so its bright point does not glare at someone standing at the door. Colour and brightness are up to you through the choice of bulb.
Weather and impact resistance
IP54 means the fitting is protected against dust and against water splashed from any direction, so it can hang on an open wall without a canopy. IK10 is the top of the impact-resistance scale, which matters at a building entrance and in public places. The manufacturer gives an operating range of −20 to +45 °C.
The polycarbonate diffuser is UV-stabilised, which protects it from yellowing in sunlight, and a silicone gasket seals it against the base. Both are available as spare parts: the diffuser as service kit 06220000 and the gasket as 08550005.
