NUMINOS M 3Ph. DALI is a spotlight for three-circuit track: a cylinder 8.5 cm across on a knuckle carrying the track adapter. Everything is black and matt, made of aluminium. The maker specifies the system as 3-phase Eurostandard EUTRAC.

Movement: 350° horizontally, 90° vertically

This is the figure a track spot is bought for. The head rotates 350° about the vertical axis and tilts 90° from vertical, that is from pointing straight down to horizontal. The point on a wall, a shelf or a display is chosen after installation and changed without touching the track.

The beam angle is 36° — a medium-narrow cone that covers a single picture or a section of a display rather than a whole wall.

Control: DALI and Touch

The maker lists two dimming methods: DALI and Touch. DALI is the digital building bus — it lets spotlights be grouped into scenes together with the rest of the lighting. Touch works locally, with no bus.

The track adapter itself assigns the fitting to one of the track's three circuits, so some spotlights on the same run can be switched independently of the others.

Quality of light

Colour temperature is 3000 K, warm white. Colour rendering reaches Ra 90, which in display lighting is a working figure rather than an ornament: fabric, wood and leather keep under it the shade by which a customer recognises them.

Glare is rated UGR ≤ 16 — low enough to aim the spotlight into spaces where people stay for a while without it glaring back. The photobiological risk group is 1.

Installation and running

The fitting is supplied at 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz, and the secondary LED circuit runs at 350 mA. The maker states that up to 94 fittings of this type can hang on a single B16A breaker — the number a larger display scheme starts from.

The operating temperature range is −20 to 50 °C. Declared module life is 50,000 hours; the module is replaceable only by a specialist. The fitting weighs 0.868 kg, is protection class I and rated IP20, which places it in dry interiors. Manufacturer warranty: 5 years.
