Pendant Lamp s.luce Ring LED 2-ring eccentric black 80/60 cm 3000 K dimmable

The s.luce Ring 179167 is a pendant made of two black rings — 80 and 60 cm across — hung off-centre from one round ceiling plate, each on its own cables. The ring profile itself is 1.3 cm wide and 3.3 cm deep, so seen from the side the fitting almost disappears and what is left is the lit hoop.

How much room it takes and how low it hangs

The larger ring spans 80 cm and the smaller one 60 cm, and the two are offset from each other, so the fitting's footprint is wider than the big ring alone and needs clear space under the ceiling, not just above a table. The cables let it drop as much as 500 cm below the ceiling and each ring is set separately — this is a fitting made for rooms open to the floor above and for stairwells, where an ordinary pendant hangs too high.

Over a table the lower edge of a ring is usually set 70–80 cm above the top. With two rings at different heights it is worth measuring both cables before mounting, because after hanging they are shortened one at a time.

What the light is like

The source is built into the ring and emits at 3000 K, a warm white. Colour rendering is above Ra 95 — under that light the colours of fabric, wood and food read almost as they do by day, which matters on a fitting hung over a table.

A ring can be hung emitting downwards or upwards, and with two rings one of each: downwards it puts working light on the surface below, upwards it bounces off the ceiling, soft and without shadows. The fitting can be dimmed, but it needs a leading- or trailing-edge dimmer — an LED controller will not do instead.

Supply and service life

The whole fitting draws 63 W at 230 V — that is both rings together, not one. The manufacturer states 25,000 hours of life and 15,000 switching cycles, which at three hours a day comes to roughly twenty years of use.

The diodes cannot be changed: the module is built into the profile, so when the source is spent the fitting is replaced. The IP20 rating confines it to indoor use, and protection class I requires an earth conductor in the ceiling box.
