QUADO is a pendant lamp with no shade: a flat metal frame of 35 × 35 cm in RAL 9005 black, hung on a black cable under a round canopy of the same colour. The E27 lampholder sits inside the frame, and the bulb stays completely exposed.
How it reads once hung
The frame lies in a single plane — from the front it draws a clear black 35 × 35 cm outline, from the side it narrows to the thickness of the profile and all but disappears. This is a fitting you plan from one viewing direction, much like a picture on a wall.
The cable drops vertically from the canopy and the frame hangs at its side rather than on its axis, which puts the bulb in the middle of the figure.
Which bulb to buy
There is one lampholder with an E27 thread, and no bulb is supplied. There is no shade and no diffuser either, so the source shines directly and its envelope stays visible — it is what the lit lamp actually looks like, which is why a decorative bulb with an exposed filament is the usual choice here.
A bare source also means nothing scatters the light. Colour and brightness are chosen when you buy the bulb, and the drop is best set so that the envelope does not end up at the eye level of someone sitting beneath it.
Build and series
The frame is metal painted black in the RAL 9005 shade — the only material and the only colour of this version. The construction is the frame, the cable and the lampholder; nothing in it covers the source.
QUADO is a series of flat lamps in various geometric shapes, and the same frame also comes in white and in gold. The manufacturer recommends the series for modern interiors, and for industrial and minimalist ones in particular.
