Recessed LED downlight VALLES Luces Exclusivas LE62595 white 35 W 4000 K

VALLES LE62595 is a round recessed ceiling downlight with an 18 cm flange. The body is aluminium in satin-gloss white, topped by a finned heatsink that carries the diodes' heat away. It is held by two spring clips — once pushed into the opening, the fitting holds itself.

How much light it gives

The built-in 35 W LED delivers 3902 lm. That is general-lighting output rather than a point accent: a single old 60 W bulb gave about 800 lm, so one of these downlights replaces close to five of them.

The colour temperature is 4000 K, a neutral white with no yellow cast. The manufacturer states a CRI above 90, which means goods, fabrics and finishes read almost as they do in daylight. The beam angle is 60° — the pool of light is roughly as wide as the mounting height, so from a ceiling 2.7 m above the floor one fitting covers a circle of about that diameter.

Size and the ceiling opening

The visible flange is 18 cm across, the body that goes into the ceiling is 15.8 cm, and the fitting is 8.1 cm tall. The opening therefore has to clear the 15.8 cm body, and more than 8 cm of free space is needed above it — the figure to check inside a suspended ceiling before ordering.

The emitting face is 10.6 cm across and sits behind a honeycomb-structured lens, which spreads the diodes' light evenly across the whole disc.

Power and light source

The fitting runs straight off 230 V and has one light point. The source is included, but it is a permanently built-in LED module: it is not swapped like a bulb, and the manufacturer rates it at 50,000 hours.

The IP20 rating restricts it to dry interiors — it cannot work above a shower or outdoors.
