The V-TAC VT-801RD is a round recessed spotlight fitting with a white gypsum body and frosted glass covering the lamp holder. The body measures 12 cm across and 6 cm high, and it fastens into the ceiling with two spring clips on the sides.
How the fitting is mounted
The ceiling cutout should be 123 mm across — the dimension the manufacturer states for this model. The spring clips open up inside the hole and pull the body against the ceiling from behind, so the fitting works in both plasterboard and gypsum ceilings.
The gypsum body can be painted over, which lets the fitting blend into the ceiling colour instead of staying visible as a white ring.
What light source to use
The fitting comes with a wired GU10 holder, but the bulb itself is not included — it needs to be bought separately, rated at up to 35 W. The frosted glass diffuses the bulb's light and hides its interior when the fitting is switched off.
