Chrome adjustable recessed GU10 fitting V-TAC VT-779-CH-RD

The V-TAC VT-779-CH-RD is a round chrome-finished ceiling fitting for recessed installation. Its outer ring contains an adjustable holder for one replaceable GU10 lamp, allowing the direction of the fitted light source to be altered after installation. The body is made from zinc alloy. A lamp is not included.

Fitting diameter and ceiling cut-out

The visible outer ring measures 82 mm in diameter and the fitting is 25 mm high. V-TAC specifies a separate circular cut-out of 74 mm. These figures describe different parts: 82 mm is the overall outside diameter, while 74 mm is the opening in the ceiling that is covered by the rim once the fitting is installed.

Rear-view photographs show two spring clips that retain the fitting in the prepared hole. Before cutting, the 74 mm diameter needs to be checked against the installation position and space must be left for the 25 mm-high body. The manual requires the supply to be isolated before work starts and the electrical connection to be completed by a suitably qualified person.

One replaceable GU10 lamp

The fitting accepts one GU10 lamp and operates at 230 V. As the light source is not supplied, brightness, colour temperature, beam angle and dimming capability are selected with the lamp. Those characteristics belong to the chosen GU10 source rather than the VT-779-CH-RD fitting itself.

The adjustable inner ring changes the direction of the installed lamp, although no specific movement range is stated for this model. Before replacing the lamp, the instructions say to disconnect the supply and allow it to cool. The recommended maximum wattage for the selected lamp and installation must not be exceeded.

Chrome finish and intended use

Zinc alloy forms the compact circular frame, and the chrome surface has a distinct metallic shine visible in the product photographs. V-TAC identifies homes, hotels, restaurants and commercial premises as intended settings. The fitting is for dry indoor areas and the instructions require it to be protected from moisture and accidental water ingress.

Disconnect the power and allow both the fitting and lamp to cool before cleaning. V-TAC recommends a soft, slightly damp cloth while keeping moisture away from electrical parts. The supply should only be restored after everything has dried completely.
