The MONO 7838 is a single surface-mounted spotlight by Nowodvorski: a matt black tube 5.5 cm across and 10.5 cm long, carried on a round ceiling plate by a short bracket. The body is painted steel and the remaining parts are ABS plastic.
How it is aimed
The tube tilts through 90Β° and rotates through 345Β°, so the beam is put on one particular thing β a picture, a worktop, a stretch of wall β without moving the fitting itself. That adjustment is where the paired dimensions come from: depending on position the fitting measures 7 to 15 cm wide and 8 to 13 cm high.
The ceiling plate is 7 cm across and 2 cm deep, and mounting is by a bracket screwed to the ceiling. The whole assembly takes less room under the ceiling than an ordinary track, so several can be set side by side over a kitchen run or in a hallway.
The GU10 lamp and changing it
The holder is a GU10 and no lamp is supplied, so one has to be bought. The manufacturer states a maximum of 10 W and permits LED lamps only, which rules out a GU10 halogen on the same base.
Changing it is helped by the patented On Click System: the tube covering the light source slides off in one movement, with no dismantling. Because colour temperature and output depend on the lamp bought, it is that lamp's figures that decide how the spot performs.
Build, supply and what is in the box
An IP20 rating intends the fitting for dry interiors, and the manufacturer states its use explicitly as indoor. Protection class I means the fitting has to be connected to a protective earth conductor β it may not be installed on wiring without an earth.
Supply is 220β230 V at 50/60 Hz. The box holds the fitting, a bracket, an Allen key and both the user and the mounting instructions, so no tools of your own are needed to put it up. The fitting itself weighs 0.33 kg. It is made in Poland.
