Stavanger 1246 bollard light aluminium RAL 9006 E27 50 cm Norlys

Stavanger 1246 is a low bollard light with a cylindrical body of powder-coated cast aluminium in aluminium RAL 9006. It stands 50 cm tall with a 20 cm diameter, and its top is closed by a ring of satin PMMA through which the light comes out. The fitting has an E27 socket and works with a lamp you choose yourself.

Size and installation

At 50 cm the bollard lights a path and its edge at leg height — compare that with the border edge or steps it is going to stand beside. It weighs 6.44 kg, and the base is bolted down through three ø9 mm holes set at 120° on a ø145 mm circle.

Fixing parts are not included. The manufacturer sells a ground anchor (1231), a concreting anchor (1230), a concrete foundation adapter (1232) and a mounting adapter (3087) separately — which one you need depends on whether the bollard goes into soil, fresh concrete or an existing foundation.

Light source and distribution

No lamp is supplied. The fitting takes an E27 lamp in an A55–A60 bulb shape rated up to 9 W (LED), so a wider globe or a long candle lamp will not fit. As a reference the manufacturer gives an 806 lm / 8.5 W / 2700 K LED lamp — the brightness of an old 60 W bulb in a warm, slightly yellow light. The lamp is replaced by the user.

The light is indirect, spreads evenly all around the bollard and is directed down onto the ground. The satin diffuser scatters it, so from the side you do not see the bright point of the lamp.

Durability and wiring

IP65 means the fitting is dust-tight and protected against water jets, so the bollard can stand outdoors without cover. IK08 states the impact resistance of the housing. It is a protection class I luminaire, which means it must be connected to the protective earth.

The terminals take conductors up to 5×4 mm², and further fittings can be looped through with up to 5×2.5 mm² — several bollards along a path then run off one supply line. The cable gland takes round cable of 8–17 mm diameter, and the body has holes for a 10 cm length of TH-35 DIN rail. The manufacturer designed it for private grounds and public areas: gardens, terraces, driveways and the surroundings of hotels or restaurants.
