The NUMINOS CL DALI M is a surface-mounted ceiling light shaped as an aluminium cylinder 8.5 cm across and 18.5 cm tall. The body is matt white and the reflector ring at the bottom is matt black. The fixture has one light outlet.

How it is installed

It is designed for surface mounting straight onto the ceiling — no cut-out and no space above the ceiling are needed, which also makes a concrete slab possible. The fixture weighs 0.726 kg and 0.991 kg packed.

The cylinder projects 18.5 cm below the ceiling and occupies a circle 8.5 cm across — both figures are worth comparing with the spacing you plan between fittings and with your ceiling height.

The light it gives

The built-in LED module delivers 1800 lm at 3000 K, a warm white. That is the equivalent of more than two old 60 W bulbs concentrated in a single fitting. A colour rendering index of Ra 90 keeps colours true — which matters over a worktop and anywhere shades have to match.

The beam angle is 36°, so the light is concentrated and lights a chosen part of a wall, worktop or floor rather than the whole room evenly. The manufacturer quotes a glare rating of UGR ≤ 16 — the lower that figure, the less the fitting glares while you work. The light source is permanently built in and its stated life is 50,000 h.

Dimming and supply

Dimming follows the DALI 2 standard and also works over Touch. The terminal block has five terminals — N, protective earth, L and the D1/D2 pair — so DALI control needs an extra pair of bus conductors run to the fitting; an ordinary phase-cut dimmer will not drive it. Supply is 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz, with a secondary current of 350 mA.

The fixture is safety class I and therefore needs a protective earth conductor, and its IP20 rating reserves it for dry rooms. The permitted ambient temperature runs from -20 to +50 °C. The manufacturer gives a 5-year warranty.
