V-TAC VT-779 is a white, round recessed ceiling downlight fitting for a single GU10 bulb. Inside the flat trim sits a tilting ring that holds the lamp — once installed, it lets you aim the light at a chosen part of the room instead of shining only straight down.
Dimensions and ceiling cut-out
The visible trim is 82 mm in diameter, and the fitting goes 25 mm into the ceiling. V-TAC specifies a Ø74 mm cut-out: the trim is 8 mm wider, so it covers the edge of the hole. The two figures are easy to mix up — 82 mm is what you see on the ceiling, 74 mm is the diameter you cut into the board.
Two spring clips, visible in the rear photos, hold the fitting in the hole, so it is pushed into the cut-out without screws. The IP20 rating means it is suitable for dry rooms.
What you need to buy
The box contains the fitting only — the bulb is not included, as the maker states explicitly. Any standard GU10 bulb fits, and the bulb decides brightness, light colour, beam angle and whether it can be dimmed. For a ceiling with several fittings side by side, buy identical bulbs from one series so the light colour matches everywhere.
V-TAC also makes the same model in a square version and in other finishes, including black, chrome, satin nickel, gold and copper.
