ALFAJAR is a white LED wall light in the form of a horizontal bar 56 cm long. A narrow beam with an acrylic diffuser sits on a flat aluminium plate and lights up along its whole length when switched on. Seen from the front, the light reads as a thin line on the wall – it is only 4 cm high.
Size and where to mount it
According to the manufacturer's drawing the light is 56 cm long, 4 cm high and projects 10 cm from the wall. Compare the length with the width of your mirror or dressing table: above a mirror about 60 cm wide the bar covers almost its full width, while a wider one leaves space at the sides. A 10 cm projection is small enough that the light does not get in the way at the mirror, even in a narrow bathroom.
The IP44 rating means protection against splashing water from any direction, the level of protection used at a bathroom mirror. Our catalogue lists it above a mirror, in the bathroom and above a dressing table.
How much light it gives
The integrated LED module draws 18 W and delivers 1170 lm – more than an old 60 W bulb, so at a mirror it is enough to light the face properly. The manufacturer gives the colour temperature as 3000–4000 K, from warm white to neutral white, the kind of light in which make-up and clothing colours are easier to judge.
The light source is built into the fitting and is not replaced like a bulb; nothing else needs to be bought, and the light runs on 230 V.
Construction
The body combines aluminium with an acrylic diffuser and is white throughout. The form is just two plain blocks – the plate and the light beam – with no ornament, which suits a modern bathroom with plain tiles and straight-edged cabinets.
