Asker 1511 is an outdoor wall light from Norlys shaped as a rectangular block of cast aluminium, powder-coated in graphite (RAL 7016). Light leaves only through the underside, which is closed by a clear, textured cover of UV-stabilised polycarbonate, so the fitting casts a soft downward pool on the wall.
Size and installation
The light is 22.5 cm wide and 11 cm high, projects 8.5 cm from the wall and weighs 1.35 kg. It fixes with two screws through ø4.5 mm holes spaced 180 × 60 mm apart. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and allow the supply to be looped on to the next fitting with up to 3 × 1.5 mm², so several wall lights on one facade can run from a single supply line. The cable gland takes round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. The fitting is protection class I and must be connected to the earth conductor.
What light it gives
The integrated 8.8 W LED module shines at 3000 K, a warm white, with CRI 80. The manufacturer gives the whole luminaire an output of 156 lm, which makes it an orientation and accent light that marks an entrance or the rhythm of a facade rather than lighting a whole driveway. Its ULOR is 0%, so no light goes upwards, into windows above the fitting or into the sky. It can be dimmed with a phase dimmer of either the trailing-edge or the leading-edge type. The manufacturer rates the module life at over 55,000 hours (L70).
Durability and use
An IP65 rating means dust-tight and protected against water jets, so the light can be mounted on an exposed wall, and IK08 is its impact resistance. Sealing comes from a silicone gasket and an EPDM cable gland. Norlys intends it for lighting walls and facades; the plain, geometric body without ornament suits modern architecture, beside terraces, balconies and fences, and in venues such as hotels and restaurants.
