MOLDE 1903CB is a bollard light 50 cm tall — Norlys classifies it on its own product card as a post light fixture, for lighting private grounds, parks and architectural schemes. The body is powder-coated cast aluminium and the lens transparent structured polycarbonate, UV stabilised. The footprint is 16.5 × 11 cm.
Light closed off at the top
The top of the fitting is solid: the manufacturer describes its characteristic as "diffused light, covered from the top", and ULOR is 2% — practically all the output goes onto the path and sideways rather than up at the sky. The BUG classification is B0-U1-G0, meaning no backlight and no glare into the surroundings. On a garden path that means you do not look into the source as you walk past.
Why 743 lm from the module becomes 386 lm from the fitting
The card gives two different figures and it is worth knowing which one applies. The LED module alone puts out 743 lumens at 92.9 lm/W; what leaves the luminaire is 386 lm, or 48.3 lm/W. The difference is eaten by exactly that top shield and the structured lens — not a fault, but the price of no glare and no sky glow. The Lunares record carries the luminaire figure, which is the one that actually lights the garden.
Dims from an ordinary dimmer
The fitting supports TRIAC phase dimming on both the trailing edge (TE) and the leading edge (LE), so an ordinary wall dimmer is enough — no DALI and no extra wiring. Inrush current is 35 mA for 60 ms; with a dozen or more bollards on one circuit that is worth allowing for when sizing the breaker. The terminals take up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and up to 3 × 1.5 mm² looped through — so a run of fittings can be fed in series on one cable.
The anchor and the adapter are bought separately
The fitting is fixed with four screws through ø7 mm holes at 18 × 50 mm spacing. Norlys states explicitly that other accessories must be purchased separately, and lists their index numbers: concreting anchor 1907, ground anchor 1908, and mounting adapters 3081XX0009 and 3090. Without one of them there is nothing in the lawn to screw it to — better known before ordering than after.
Toughness and service life
IP54 guards against dust and splashing water from any direction, IK07 is 2 J of impact resistance, and protection class I requires an earth conductor. The operating range is −20…+45 °C. The manufacturer declares over 55,000 hours to L70 (LM-80), roughly 50 years at three hours a day, and the LED module is replaceable by a professional.
A made-to-order finish
The standard versions of MOLDE 1903 are aluminium RAL 9006 and graphite RAL 7016. Copper Brown is one of the finishes from a separate pattern book, made to order — as is any other RAL colour, and the 2700 K version.
