Bollard light NORLYS Molde 1904 Aluminium RAL 9006 LED 8W 50 cm

The Molde 1904 is a 50 cm bollard light in powder-coated cast aluminium, finished in RAL 9006. The slim body, 11 x 16,5 cm in section, ends in a head that curves forward and down, closed with a transparent structured polycarbonate lens that is UV stabilised.

How tall it stands and how it is fixed

Fifty centimetres is knee height, so the fitting lights the surface underfoot rather than the surroundings at eye level. Along a drive or a garden path it marks the edge, but it will not replace a lantern that lights a whole section of a plot.

The base takes four screws through ø7 mm holes spaced 18 x 50 mm. The ground anchor, the concreting anchor and the mounting adapters are separate articles at the maker and are not supplied, so a lawn installation has to budget for one. The fitting itself weighs 1,5 kg.

The light it gives

The built-in 8 W LED module delivers 438 lm out of the fitting at 4000 K, a neutral white with no yellow cast. The lens is shielded from above, so the flux goes down onto the surface instead of spilling towards the sky — which is why more light leaves the module than leaves the luminaire.

It dims on a TRIAC phase dimmer in both trailing-edge and leading-edge mode, so it also suits older installations running RL dimmers. Colour rendering is Ra 80. The LED module is not changed like a bulb: it is integrated into the fitting, and the maker provides for replacement by a qualified service.

Build and wiring

IP54 means protection against dust and against water splashed from any direction, while IK07 describes the impact resistance of the housing. The luminaire is protection class I, so a PE conductor has to reach the earth terminal — a two-core supply is not enough.

The terminals accept conductors up to 3 x 2,5 mm² and allow further fittings to be looped through with up to 3 x 1,5 mm². A row of these bollards along a path therefore runs off one supply line. The gland takes a round cable up to ø12,5 mm.
