This is a decorative object, not working light

Four watts and 320 lumens is less than an ordinary night light gives — and that is the point. At 2000 K the colour is extremely warm, far warmer than the usual 2700 K: the light has a distinctly orange-amber cast, like candle flame. Combined with the tinted glass, that produces a glow you can look at directly, and which does not light a room so much as tint it.

The practical conclusion: Swirl is bought for a fitting where the bulb is visible — a bare pendant, a flex set, a table base. Inside a shade its point disappears, because all its value is in what you can see.

Spiral filament and amber glass

There is one filament, coiled into a distinct spiral running through the centre of the globe — not a token filament tucked against the wall but an element meant to be seen from every side. The glass is amber-tinted through the body, which mutes the brightness of the filament itself so that no hard point shows when you look straight at it.

The manufacturer notes that the bulb can be displayed cap-up or cap-down — the globe is slightly asymmetric, so inverting it changes the proportions of the shape.

Before you buy

Ø 19 cm really is large — the globe is bigger than the shade on a typical small lamp. Two things are worth checking: whether the fitting will carry 200 g hanging from the lampholder, and whether at least 25 cm of clear space remains between the holder and the ceiling or shade. The bulb is not dimmable, so on a dimmed circuit it will flicker or simply not light.
