Garden bollard light BORG Bollard 6170 LED 16W 3000K 55cm graphite RAL 7016 Norlys

The BORG Bollard 6170 is a 55 cm garden bollard: a flat round disc 200 mm across on a cylindrical shaft 76 mm in diameter. The body is powder-coated cast aluminium in graphite (RAL 7016), and the light passes through a satin PMMA diffuser that spreads it without harsh glare.

How much light it gives

The 13.7 W LED module produces 2093 lm, and 1358 lm leave the luminaire at a consumption of 16 W, which is 84.9 lm/W. The light is rotationally symmetrical around the bollard, so it lights a path or a flower bed on both sides rather than in one direction only. 3000 K is a warm white, and CRI 80 is the level usual for garden lighting.

ULOR is 0% and the BUG rating is B1-U1-G0 — no light leaves above the disc, which matters near windows facing the garden and when keeping sky glow over the property down.

Dimming and servicing

The luminaire dims on a phase dimmer — the manufacturer allows both trailing-edge (TE) and leading-edge (LE) control, so it works with either type of dimmer. The LED module and the driver are replaced by a professional service; the manufacturer states an LED lifetime of over 102,000 h at L80 and over 52,600 h at L90, and 50,000 h for the driver.

Installation and what you need to buy

The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 4 mm² and allow loop-through wiring to further luminaires, and the round-sheathed supply cable can be 8–12.5 mm in diameter — so several bollards along a path can run on one supply line. Up to 31 of these luminaires fit on a B 10A circuit breaker, up to 50 on a B 16A. The luminaire is protection class I, so it needs a protective earth conductor, and it is rated IP65 and IK08 for impact resistance.

Fixings are sold separately: ground anchor 202GA0009, concrete foundation adapter 201GA0009 and concreting anchor 203ZX0009. The bollard weighs 2.38 kg and the carton measures 22 × 22 × 57.5 cm. The manufacturer intends it for gardens, private grounds and public areas such as the surroundings of hotels and restaurants.
