Borg Bollard 6123 is a low bollard luminaire 35 cm tall: a slim stem topped by a flat, round cap 20 cm across. The body is a powder-coated aluminium casting in graphite RAL 7016, the diffuser is satin PMMA, and the joints are sealed with silicone.
How it spreads the light
The luminaire puts out 1396 lm and radiates rotationally symmetrically, that is evenly all around the stem. The cap closes it off at the top and the manufacturer states ULOR 0%: no part of the output goes to the sky or into a neighbour's window, all of it lands on the surface around the bollard.
4000 K is neutral white light, cooler than the 3000 K used indoors and easy to read a path by. The colour rendering index is 80, which is enough for circulation routes. At 35 cm tall the pool of light covers the surface immediately around the fitting, so a longer path is lined with several bollards rather than one.
The LED module and control
The source is a built-in LED module — there is no lampholder and no bulb to buy separately. The module draws 13.7 W and the whole luminaire 17.2 W. The manufacturer provides for the module and the control gear to be replaced by a professional service and lists a service kit for this fitting, so a worn diode does not end the life of the whole bollard.
The luminaire dims over DALI2. That is bus control: it needs a DALI controller, not an ordinary wall dimmer.
Operating conditions and wiring
IP65 means a dust-tight housing that withstands water jets from any direction, that is operation in the open with no shelter. Impact resistance IK08 corresponds to 5 J, which matters on a fitting standing at ankle height beside a mower and bicycles.
The luminaire is protection class I, so the installation has to bring an earth conductor to it. The terminals take conductors up to 5×2.5 mm², and looping through to the next luminaire up to 5×1.5 mm²; a round-sheathed cable may measure up to ø12.5 mm. The luminaire itself weighs 2.03 kg, and the ground anchor or the concrete anchor is bought separately.
