NORLYS Borg Bollard 6191GR bollard light, graphite RAL 7016, LED 16 W 4000 K, 105 cm

Borg Bollard 6191GR is a 105 cm bollard light in graphite RAL 7016: a plain tube 7.6 cm in diameter topped by a flat disc 20 cm across. The body is powder-coated cast aluminium, and the light leaves through a satin PMMA diffuser hidden under the disc, spreading evenly all around the post.

Light: colour, brightness and dimming

The Cree LED module gives 4000 K, a neutral white that is cooler than a traditional bulb, with a colour rendering index of Ra 80. The whole fitting draws 16 W and delivers 1396 lm, clearly more than an old 60 W bulb at about 800 lm. A ULOR of 0% means the disc stops all upward light, so it falls only on the path and the ground around the post.

The fitting is phase-dimmable with both trailing-edge and leading-edge dimmers, so it works with either of the two common dimmer types.

Installation and powering several bollards

To set the bollard in place you need one of the parts sold separately: ground anchor 202, concreting anchor 203 or concrete foundation adapter 201. The bollard weighs 3.44 kg. It is protection class I, so it must be connected to a protective earth conductor.

The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 4 mm² and allow the supply to be looped through to the next fitting, and the cable gland takes round cable of 8–12.5 mm diameter. With an inrush current of 2 A / 50 µs, Norlys states that 31 of these fittings can share one B 10 A circuit breaker, 50 a B 16 A, 52 a C 10 A and 58 a C 16 A. That figure decides how many bollards along a driveway or path a single circuit can carry.

Durability and service

IP65 means the fitting is fully dust-tight and resists water jets, and IK08 rates its impact resistance, so the bollard can stand beside a path with no shelter. The manufacturer states a module lifetime above 102,000 h (L80) and 52,600 h (L90), and 50,000 h for the driver.
