Gea Luce GFA376 is a recessed ceiling spotlight with a square 84 × 84 mm trim whose sides curve slightly inwards. The aluminium body has a brushed nickel finish, and a frosted glass diffuser covers the lamp. The manufacturer intends it for indoor use and approves it for installation in bathrooms.
Ceiling cut-out and space above it
The fitting needs a 70 mm diameter cut-out, and the 84 × 84 mm square trim covers its edge. The whole unit is 110 mm tall including the lamp holder, so you need at least that much free space above the ceiling board — the figure to check in a suspended plasterboard ceiling.
Light source
GFA376 takes one GU10 lamp of up to 35 W and runs directly on 220–240 V mains, without a separate transformer. The 35 W limit refers to halogen lamps; a GU10 LED replacement draws several times less and stays well within it. Colour and brightness are set by the lamp you choose.
The frosted glass diffuser spreads the light, so the bright point of the lamp is not seen directly when you look up at the ceiling.
Bathroom use and operating conditions
IP65 means the fitting is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, which is why the manufacturer allows it in bathrooms. It is a Class I luminaire, so it must be connected to a protective earth.
