Gea Luce: Italian LED lighting, decorative and technical
Gea Luce is an Italian family lighting company from San Severo, in Puglia, led by three siblings – Lucia, Enrico and Antonio – for whom, as they put it, the work is more a vocation than a mission. The company aims to create lighting that is efficient, low in energy use, easy to install and beautiful to look at, and it builds on LED technology. Its range is split into two divisions. Decorative covers pendant, ceiling, wall, floor and table lamps. Technical covers recessed systems, floodlights, track, recessed spots, LED strips and profiles, and other technical lighting for interiors and exteriors. An in-house technical team supports customers and lighting projects.
Direct or indirect, accent or ambient
Gea Luce sums up its approach as light that can be direct or indirect, accent or ambient, diffused or atmospheric, with many modular and combinable solutions. The decorative series – among them FLOR, JULIETTE, OFELIA and CRISEIDE – sit alongside clean, technical shapes in white, black, graphite, brown, silver and dark nickel. On the technical side, the brand offers several track families: 48 V DC magnetic systems in technical, ultra-thin and decorative profiles, plus a 230 V three-circuit track.
Gea Luce at Lunares
At Lunares, indoors there are flush ceiling lights, pendant lights, recessed lights, wall lights, table lamps (including cordless ones) and floor lamps, together with track lights, track connectors, power supplies and accessories. Outdoors there are outdoor wall lights, bollard lights, outdoor ceiling lights, recessed wall lights, stair lighting, spotlights, LED floodlights and driveway lights.
How to choose
-
Which track system. The 48 V families are not interchangeable, so spots, rails and connectors must all come from the same family. The 230 V three-circuit track is a separate system again.
-
Driver for low voltage. 48 V and other low-voltage fittings need a separate SELV power supply that is not included, so size it to the total wattage of the fittings.
-
IP rating outdoors. Outdoor fittings carry ratings such as IP54, IP65 or IP67. Use the higher ratings for exposed walls, ground-level and driveway lights.
-
Colour temperature. Warm 3000 K suits homes and terraces; 4000 K suits work areas, paths and car parks.
-
Cordless lamps. Rechargeable table lamps rated IP54 can move between the dining table and the terrace without a cable.
