Gea Luce GPL382 round LED ceiling light Ø 40 cm, 40 W, 3000/4000/5000 K, matt white

GPL382 is a round LED ceiling light by Gea Luce, 40 cm in diameter and 6 cm high, with a thermoplastic body in matt white. Its underside is a flat white light-emitting face, and the LED module is built into the fitting and supplied with it.

Size and installation

At 40 cm across, the fitting projects only 6 cm from the ceiling, so it also suits lower ceilings where a pendant would get in the way of people walking underneath. It weighs 2.32 kg net. It is protection class II, so it does not need a protective earth connection.

How much light, and what kind

The colour temperature is set before the ceiling light is finally mounted: 3000 K is warm white, 4000 K neutral white and 5000 K cool white. The luminous flux depends on the choice: 3537 lm at 3000 K, 3809 lm at 4000 K and 3758 lm at 5000 K. That is main-lighting level, equivalent to several old 60 W bulbs burning at once, while drawing 40 W.

A colour rendering index above CRI 90 means walls, fabrics and food look natural under this light. The 80° beam angle directs the light downwards beneath the fitting. It cannot be dimmed: it works on/off only and must not be connected to a dimmer.

Light source and interior

The LED source is integrated into the fitting, so no bulbs need to be bought. The manufacturer states a lifetime of 50,000 hours, and the fitting has energy efficiency class E.

The flat, round body with no ornament and its uniform matt white make a minimalist form that does not dominate the ceiling. Because the colour temperature can be chosen, the same model can give warm light in a living room or bedroom and neutral white in a kitchen or office.
