Lars Black 1777 is a five-light ceiling fitting by Keter Lighting made of black metal. Five straight arms with E27 lampholders extend from a round base that screws to the ceiling, and each bulb sits inside an open black wire shade shaped like a diamond. The supply cables run on the outside, in loose loops from the base to the lampholders.

Size and space under the ceiling

The fitting measures 60 × 60 cm across and 39 cm in height. It does not hang on a cable but screws directly to the ceiling, so those 39 cm are all the room it takes up overhead — subtract the figure from your own ceiling height to see how much clearance remains below the shades. Compare the 60 cm span with the free area of your ceiling: it needs more space than a single flush light. The light weighs 2.85 kg including packaging.

Bulbs and light output

Each of the five E27 lampholders takes a bulb of up to 60 W. No light sources are included, so you need to buy five bulbs, and they decide the colour and brightness of the light. An LED bulb of about 800 lm matches an old 60 W bulb, and five of them together give roughly 4000 lm, which is enough to light a whole room.

The wire shades hide nothing: the bulb stays fully visible and the wires cast a geometric shadow pattern on the ceiling and walls. The look of the fitting therefore depends on the bulbs you choose, and filament bulbs become part of the decoration. With no diffuser, a bare bulb can dazzle, so where people look towards the light, frosted or lower-output bulbs work better. The fitting has no built-in dimmer; dimming needs dimmable bulbs and a dimmer in the circuit.

Style and the Lars range

Black wire cages, exposed lampholders and visible cables are features of loft and industrial style. The fitting works as the main light in a living room, particularly in an interior with metal details, brick or raw wood.
