Lumifall Alcazar 540.BC recessed spotlight – black and chrome, 92 mm

Lumifall Alcazar 540.BC is a single, circular recessed spotlight with a black outer rim and a chrome inner ring. Its brushed outer surface contrasts with the polished part that holds and directs the light source. The aluminium fitting creates a defined circular outline at the ceiling rather than a suspended shade.

Allow for the fitting and the ceiling cut-out

The visible fitting measures 92 mm in diameter, while the required mounting hole is 80 mm. These dimensions serve different purposes: use the cut-out measurement when preparing the ceiling, not the diameter of the outer rim. When replacing an existing downlight, compare both measurements with the opening already present.

Spring clips retain the recessed fitting. Before deciding on its position, check the space behind the ceiling together with the requirements of the chosen bulb. The outer diameter alone does not establish the total clearance needed for the light source and its connection.

Aim the ring and choose the bulb separately

The inner ring rotates through 360° in the horizontal plane and tilts by 25°. This allows the direction of light to change within those limits without moving the outer rim to another opening. The adjustment is useful when planning general or spot lighting in a living room, hallway or study.

No bulb is supplied. The manufacturer specifies a PAR16 50 halogen source or an LED bulb, recommending LED, and lists a GX5.3 socket with GU10 as an option. Do not assume the two sockets are interchangeable without checking the configuration. Match the bulb base to the socket actually being used.

Light colour, brightness and beam distribution depend on the separately selected bulb. Photographs showing a bulb inside the ring illustrate the assembled appearance rather than the contents supplied.

Contrasting finishes for a geometric interior

The concentric rings and combination of brushed and polished surfaces suit modern, modernist and minimalist interiors. The black rim and bright centre remain the distinguishing features of the 540.BC finish even when the bulb is angled.
