Markslöjd Gota 109136 is a small window pendant with a clear glass shade. Vertical ribs and a scalloped lower edge sit beneath an antique-brass-finish fitting, accompanied by a beige twisted textile cable. The metal components are iron: antique brass describes their finish rather than their underlying material.

Allowing space beside the window

The hanging light body measures 17 cm high and 13 cm wide and deep. The glass shade itself is 10.5 cm high. These measurements describe the lower assembly, not the total drop including the cable. Compare them with the available space beside your window and check that the lamp will not obstruct an opening sash.

Its intended role is decorative window lighting, suitable for a living room, bedroom, kitchen or dining-room window. With one compact shade and one light source, it is different from a broad chandelier above a table. Ribbed glass, aged-looking metal detailing and the twisted cord give it a specific retro and vintage character without relying on the room shown in a photograph.

Choosing a bulb and connecting the lamp

One E14 bulb is required and is sold separately. The instructions specify a maximum of 40 W for a conventional bulb or 6 W for LED. Because the shade is clear, the bulb remains visible, so its appearance matters as well as its socket. Brightness and colour temperature depend on the bulb you choose, not on the glass shade alone.

The 3.5 m cable includes a wall plug and an on/off switch positioned 1 m from the plug. Plan the cable route and make sure the switch remains accessible. Three-step dimming requires a compatible bulb; the ordinary cord switch is not a separate brightness control.

Caring for the glass and fitting

Switch the lamp off and allow it to cool before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth. The manufacturer advises against cleaning agents because they may cause staining. Keep moisture away from connections and power-supplying components, and leave the lamp off after cleaning until it is completely dry.
