Norlys Alta 1456BL Bollard Light Black LED 10 W 3000 K DALI2 49 cm

The Norlys Alta 1456BL is a 49 cm bollard light with a black cylindrical body 15 cm in diameter. Its head is made of five stacked steel rings, with an opal PMMA diffuser showing between them. The fitting has a built-in LED module and is controlled over DALI2.

Where it goes and how it is fixed

A low bollard lights the ground around it – a path, a driveway or the edge of a terrace – rather than the faces of people walking past. Norlys designed it for lighting private grounds. The rings shield the source from above and the light spreads evenly all the way round; the ULOR is 10%, so only a small share of the output goes skywards.

The base is bolted down through three ø9 mm holes set at 120° on a ø65 mm circle. Fixing parts are not included: Norlys sells a concrete anchor (205), a ground anchor (206), a concrete-foundation adapter (206S), mounting adapters 3080GA and 3086 and a junction box 6138 separately.

How much light it gives and how it is controlled

The fitting draws 10 W and emits 169 lm of 3000 K light, a warm white, at CRI 80. That is orientation lighting that marks a path and its steps rather than floodlighting a whole driveway. The light source is built in and supplied with the fitting, so there is no bulb to buy.

Control follows the DALI2 standard: the light can be dimmed and grouped into scenes, but it needs a DALI controller or gateway – an ordinary phase dimmer will not operate it. Norlys states a lifetime above 50,000 h for the LED module (L80B20) and 100,000 h for the driver.

Build and wiring

The body is hot-dip galvanised steel, powder-coated black (RAL 9005), the diffuser is opal PMMA and the joints are sealed with silicone. IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets, so the bollard can stand outdoors without cover; impact resistance is IK08.

The terminals take conductors up to 5 × 2.5 mm² and allow looping on to the next fitting with up to 5 × 1.5 mm². Several bollards along a path can therefore run from one supply line. The fitting is protection class I, so it must be connected to a protective earth, and Norlys also permits a DC supply of 176–276 V in emergency lighting installations.
