NORLYS ASTRID 2205GR LED Garden Bollard, Graphite, 10.6 W, 3000 K, Dimmable

NORLYS ASTRID 2205GR is a 55 cm garden bollard in graphite RAL 7016. Vertical ribs run along its aluminium body and reveal a milky diffuser in the upper section. A flat top and rounded corners complete the repeated linear detail, giving this version a distinctly modern form.

A low bollard, not a tall lighting column

The body has a 14 × 14 cm cross-section. Compare its 55 cm height with planting and paving edges at the proposed location: this is low-level outdoor lighting rather than a high-mounted lantern. It can be considered beside garden paths, around a terrace or within an external entrance area. Position it outside the clear walking route and vehicle movement space rather than narrowing a path or driveway.

Understanding the light output

The built-in LED module produces warm-white light at 3000 K. Total luminaire power is 10.6 W and the output from the complete fitting is 192 lm. This differs from the light source's own 1501 lm rating: the diffuser and construction affect how much light leaves the fitting. NORLYS describes the distribution as diffuse. Use the manufacturer's photometric data when deciding the spacing of several bollards, rather than judging coverage from wattage alone.

The 2205GR version supports trailing-edge and leading-edge phase dimming. A compatible control must be selected for the installation. This is not the DALI version; suitable phase control allows brightness to be reduced from the full-output setting.

Mounting hardware and electrical installation

The base uses three 9 mm mounting holes, spaced at 120° on a 65 mm circle. Mounting screws are not supplied, according to the installation instructions. Anchors and adapters are purchased separately to suit the supporting surface. Installation and connection of this Class I fitting to a 220–240 V supply must be carried out by an appropriately qualified person.

Materials and servicing

The housing is extruded, powder-coated aluminium, with a milky PMMA diffuser. The fitting is rated IP65 and IK10 for ingress protection and mechanical impact respectively. Its LED source is replaceable, but the instructions reserve replacement for the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person. It is not a user-replaceable module.
