Koster Double Head 1187AL is a two-headed post-top luminaire: two domed shades on horizontal arms spanning 82.5 cm. The body is powder-coated cast aluminium in aluminium colour (RAL 9006), and each head is closed underneath by a clear, textured diffuser of UV-stabilised polycarbonate.
Dimensions and pole mounting
The luminaire slips onto a Ø60 mm pole spigot to a depth of 80 mm. The manufacturer's 82.5 × 24.5 × 22.5 cm and 6.38 kg refer to the luminaire alone – the pole with a Ø60 mm spigot is chosen separately, and its height decides how far the light reaches (the manufacturer calculated its photometry for H = 4 m). Each head is 24.5 cm in diameter.
A 3.7 m H05VV-F 2G1 cable comes pre-fitted and is connected inside the pole in a suitable junction box. Protection class II means no protective earth conductor is needed.
How much light, and what kind
Four Philips Fortimo LED modules draw 34 W in total, and the luminaire delivers 3422 lm – roughly what four old 60 W bulbs gave. 3000 K is warm white light, and the CRI is 70. The Ledil VSM lenses give an IESNA Type V distribution, a symmetrical circle of light around the pole – suited to squares, courtyards and path junctions rather than to steering light along a single path. None of the flux goes upwards (ULOR 0%, BUG B1-U1-G1).
The luminaire can be dimmed with a phase dimmer, either trailing edge or leading edge.
Durability and servicing
IP65 keeps rain and water jets out, and IK10 impact resistance matters in publicly accessible places. The manufacturer states an L90B10 LED lifetime of over 100,000 hours. The LED modules and driver are replaced by a professional service, and the diffuser is available as a separate service kit.
