NORLYS Koster Pro 1845AL post-top luminaire, light grey RAL 9006, LED 18.4 W 4000 K, DALI2, for Ø60 pole

Koster Pro 1845AL is a NORLYS post-top luminaire: a dome shade on a straight arm that slides onto a 60 mm pole spigot. The powder-coated cast aluminium body is light grey RAL 9006, and a clear structured polycarbonate diffuser closes the shade underneath.

Mounting and dimensions

The luminaire is 45 cm long, and the shade is 24.5 cm across and as tall. It slides 80 mm deep onto a Ø60 mm spigot; the pole and other accessories are ordered separately. It weighs 2.86 kg and its side area is 0.045 m², the figure to check against the permitted wind load of the chosen pole. It connects through a 3.7 m H05VV-F 5G1 cable run inside the pole to a junction box.

How much light and what kind

The Philips Fortimo LED module produces 2801 lm, and 1938 lm leaves the luminaire at 18.4 W, or 105.3 lm/W. 4000 K is a neutral white. The Ledil VSM lens spreads the light wide and evenly to IESNA type V, symmetrically around the pole, which is how squares, parks and car parks are lit when the pole stands in the middle of the area. ULOR 0% means no light goes above the luminaire, and the maker calculated the photometry for a 3.3 m mounting height.

Control and connection

The driver supports DALI2 and NightDim; it leaves the factory set to maximum current, and Norlys programs other settings by arrangement. Dimming therefore needs DALI control, and an ordinary phase dimmer will not do it. This is a class I luminaire. An inrush current of 15 A for 295 µs limits how many fit on one breaker: the maker gives 18 on B10, 29 on B16, 30 on C10 and 49 on C16. Surge protection is 6/10 kV.

Durability and service

IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets, and IK10 is the highest impact rating. The LED module keeps 90% of its output for more than 100,000 h (L90B10), and the driver is rated for 100,000 h. A professional service replaces both, and Norlys offers spare-part kits for them.
