Norlys Oslo 245CS Bollard Light, Corten Steel Finish, E27, IP55, 118 cm

The Norlys Oslo 245 is a garden bollard 118 cm tall, topped with the collection's signature shade of overlapping flat discs. The CS version carries a corten-steel finish — a warm rust tone that sits better against timber, stone and planting than black or graphite.

How it lights

The overlapping discs shield the light source from above and from the sides, so the light falls mainly downward, onto the path. The BUG rating confirms it: B0-U2-G1 — no light thrown sideways (B0) and the lowest glare band (G1). The manufacturer also gives an upward light ratio (ULOR) of 9.19%, meaning over 90% of the output goes where it should rather than into the sky. Along a path lined with bollards that is a real difference: they do not dazzle the person walking or light up the first-floor windows.

Diffuser and durability

The cylinder beneath the discs is made of transparent polycarbonate (PC) with a UV filter — the filter prevents the plastic yellowing in sunlight, the usual failing of cheaper garden fittings after a few seasons. The body is galvanised steel in a corten finish. An IP55 rating means protection against dust and water jets from any direction, so the bollard can stand in the open with no shelter.

Mounting

The bollard fixes to an anchor supplied with it: three ø7 mm holes spaced 120° apart on a ø139 mm circle. The anchor is set into the foundation and the bollard bolts onto it — which means the fitting can later be removed without disturbing the concrete. Overall dimensions are 28.5 × 48 × 118 cm, weight 3.82 kg.

Light source

The lampholder is E27, and the manufacturer sets the limit at a maximum of 9 W with an LED source. That limit comes from heat dissipation inside a closed enclosure, so it is worth respecting even when a more powerful bulb would physically fit. No bulb is included.
