Rimini 403BD is a classic Norlys garden lantern on its own post: three hexagonal heads with clear diffusers and decorative finials, carried on arms at the top of the post. It stands 188 cm tall and spans 50 cm. The body is powder-coated cast aluminium, finished in black with a gold patina.
Size and installation
The 188 cm height is the figure to compare with the surroundings of the spot you have in mind, and the 50 cm span of the heads is the space to keep clear of branches and walls around the top of the post. The base is bolted down through three ø10.5 mm holes set 120° apart on a ø207 mm circle. The concreting anchor 405 and the ground anchor 406 are sold separately by the manufacturer, so they are chosen together with the lantern.
The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and an EPDM gland seals a round-sheathed cable 6 to 12.5 mm in diameter. The lantern weighs 6.7 kg and ships in a 30.5 × 31 × 81.5 cm box.
Light sources
Each of the three heads has an E27 lampholder for an LED lamp of up to 9 W in an A55–A60 bulb, the shape of an ordinary light bulb. No lamps are included: three have to be bought, and you choose their colour temperature and brightness yourself. The manufacturer names Philips Master LEDbulb and Osram LED Parathom Classic as examples. The user changes the lamps.
The diffusers are clear UV-stabilised polycarbonate and do not hide the source, so light spreads in every direction and the lamp itself is visible through the panes.
Construction
IP54 protection means resistance to dust and to water splashed from any direction, enough for a lantern standing in a garden. Protection class II means double insulation, so the luminaire needs no earth connection. The classic shape with its roofs and finials suits gardens and terraces of traditionally styled houses.
