Vasa 120BD is a Norlys outdoor wall light shaped like a half-cylinder: a rounded cast-aluminium body, open at the top and the bottom, where the light comes out. The finish is black with a gold patina, a golden-brown surface with darker streaks. It has an E27 lampholder, and the lamp is bought separately.
Size and installation
The luminaire is 31 cm wide and 12.5 cm high and projects 15.5 cm from the wall. It weighs 2.35 kg. It is screwed on either through an intermediate plate with two 5 × 10 mm adjustment slots 45 mm apart, or directly through two ø5 mm holes 68 mm apart. The slots let you level the light when the wall plugs did not end up perfectly horizontal.
The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and the supply can be looped on to the next luminaire with conductors up to 3 × 1.5 mm². Several lights on one façade are therefore fed by one cable run from fitting to fitting. An EPDM gland seals a round-sheathed cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter.
The light it gives
The E27 lampholder takes an LED lamp of up to 9 W in an A55–A60 bulb, the shape of an ordinary light bulb. You choose colour temperature and brightness yourself; the manufacturer gives Philips Master LEDbulb and Osram LED Parathom Classic as examples. The user changes the lamp.
Light leaves in two wide beams, up and down, through diffusers of clear textured polycarbonate stabilised against UV. Half of the output goes upwards (ULOR 50%), so the light draws bright bands on the wall above and below it rather than lighting the ground in front of the house.
Construction and where it goes
IP65 protection means it is dust-tight and resists water jets, so the light can be mounted on an unsheltered wall. IK08 impact resistance helps where the luminaire hangs low beside a passage. Protection class I requires a protective earth connection. The manufacturer intends it for lighting walls and façades, and the plain, unornamented shape suits Scandinavian-style architecture.
