NUMINOS XL PD DALI is a pendant shaped as a slim black cylinder, 12 cm across and 25.8 cm tall, on a 250 cm cable. It delivers 3550 lumens at 28 W in warm white 2700 K, in a narrow 24° beam.

A narrow 24° beam – a fitting for one job

This is the figure that decides the application. 24° is narrow for a pendant: the output does not spill across the room but draws a clearly bounded pool of light with a strong centre on the surface below. Over a kitchen island or a dining table that gives a theatrical effect – the surface is bright, the surroundings stay in half-light.

The narrow optic has a practical consequence too: the drop decides the size of the pool. At 24°, every 10 cm higher widens the lit circle by a few centimetres. The 250 cm cable leaves plenty of margin, but the height should be chosen deliberately, measured from the surface rather than from the ceiling.

3550 lumens from 28 watts

Efficacy works out at about 127 lm/W – high, even for a decorative fitting. With 3550 lumens concentrated in a narrow beam, the illuminance on the surface is very high, so a single fitting genuinely lights the whole working zone.

A colour rendering index of CRI 90 with 2700 K is the combination for food and timber: warm, credible colours. The glare index UGR 19 is low – the fitting is built with the source set deep so it does not dazzle those seated at the table. Rated life: 50,000 hours.

DALI and Touch dimming

The fitting supports two control methods: the digital DALI protocol and Touch – dimming from a push button, with no controller and no separate bus. That resolves the usual dilemma: in an installation with a control system you use DALI, in an ordinary flat a plain retractive switch is enough.

Installing a run

The datasheet gives 58 loop-through wires and the same number of fittings permitted on a B16A or C16A breaker. That is a lot, and it follows from the low inrush current: 2.825 A over 188 µs. For a row above a long table or in a restaurant it means the installation need not be split across many circuits.

The body is aluminium, in matt black, with a polycarbonate cover. Supply 200–240 V AC 50/60 Hz, secondary current 700 mA, protection class I (earth conductor required), ingress protection IP20. Permitted ambient temperature: −20 to 50 °C.

Net weight is 1.952 kg, gross 2.262 kg – substantial for a fitting 12 cm across, so the mounting point must be prepared accordingly. The canopy is 10.3 cm across and 2.9 cm deep.
