Sol 4048BL LED outdoor ceiling light Ø20 cm, 19.1 W, 4000 K, DALI2, black – NORLYS

Sol 4048BL is an outdoor LED ceiling light shaped as a low cylinder, 20 cm in diameter and 11 cm high. The body, made from extruded aluminium profile and aluminium alloy, is powder-coated black (RAL 9005) and closed underneath with clear safety glass. The fitting has a contemporary, plain form and weighs 2.65 kg.

How much light it gives

The integrated Philips Fortimo module and its driver draw 19.1 W together, and the fitting emits 2227 lm – a main-lighting level, enough to light a terrace, an entrance or a covered driveway brightly. 4000 K is a neutral white that makes a space look clear and fresh, and Ra 80 renders colours well. The light is symmetrical and directed downwards; only 0.3% of it goes up (BUG B1-U1-G0), so the fitting does not shine into the sky or into the windows above it.

Control and power supply

The driver works in a DALI2 system, so the light can be dimmed and grouped from a DALI2 controller in the building installation. The manufacturer also allows a DC supply of 176–280 V, which matters in installations with a central battery.

Installation and service

The ceiling light is fixed through two ø5 mm holes 100 mm apart. The terminals take conductors up to 5 × 2.5 mm², and fittings can be looped with cable up to 1.5 mm², using round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. IP65 protects against dust and water jets, impact resistance is IK06, and protection class I means a protective earth must be connected.

The LED module is rated for more than 50,000 h. Both the module and the driver are replaced by a professional service – Norlys supplies them as service kits ZS4044ZX0009 (LED) and ZS4047ZX0009 (driver), so a failure of one part does not mean replacing the whole fitting.
