Sol 4058GR is an outdoor ceiling light shaped as a low cylinder, 20 cm in diameter and 11 cm high, with an aluminium body powder-coated in graphite (RAL 7016). Underneath, a satin diffuser of UV-stabilised polycarbonate closes the fitting and spreads the light of the LED module. The manufacturer intends it for gardens and private grounds — under a terrace canopy or the roof of a gazebo.
Installation and wiring
The fitting screws to the ceiling with two screws through ø5 mm holes 100 mm apart and weighs 2.42 kg. The terminals take conductors up to 5 × 2.5 mm², and the supply cable enters through an EPDM gland (7–10.5 mm diameter). The supply can be looped on to the next fitting (up to 1.5 mm²), so several lights under one canopy can run from a single circuit. It is protection class I and needs an earth conductor.
Light and control
The integrated Philips Fortimo LED module draws 19.3 W including its driver, and the fitting delivers 1912 lm at 4000 K — a neutral white in which details are easy to see. That is enough to light an entrance or part of a terrace. The light is symmetrical and directed downwards: only 0.3% of the output goes upwards (BUG rating B1-U1-G1).
The fitting has a DALI-2 driver: brightness is controlled from a DALI installation, so dimming needs a controller for that system, and an ordinary phase dimmer will not do the job. Besides 220–240 V mains, the manufacturer also allows a DC 176–280 V supply.
Lifetime and service
The manufacturer rates the module at over 50,000 h (L70). The light source is not changed by the user, but the LED module and driver can be replaced by a service technician — Norlys offers separate service kits for this fitting: LED (ZS4044ZX0009) and driver (ZS4047ZX0009). The housing is rated IP65 and IK10 for impact.
